Year-Round Program

The Year-Round Program is designed for students who are interested in learning art in a group environment.  Students will learn basic art skills in both 2-D and 3-D art: drawing, painting, sculpture design and mixed media.  Mediums, such as pencil, charcoal, ink, color pencil, acrylic, watercolor and gouache, will be used.

While we teach techniques and concepts, such as color theory, composition, and line quality, our goal is to provide comprehensive art education tailored to the individual student.  We encourage students to participate in regional and national art contests to further realize their potential. We also have a yearly student art exhibition for the general public.

We accept students in grades 1–12.  Prior art experience is not required. Classes are once a week and 2 hours long. Please check our class schedule for a list of classes.

New students interested in the year-round program are required to have an evaluation prior to starting art class.  The one-on-one evaluation will take approximately one hour, and there is a $105 evaluation fee. Please contact us to set up an appointment.

College Portfolio Preparation

The College Portfolio Preparation class is dedicated to high school and college transfer students who are preparing portfolios for entrance into art colleges and universities.  Students who are interested in non-art related majors/fields can also enroll as an extracurricular activity.

We recommend students begin the program by freshman year in high school to position themselves favorably by senior year (Middle school students will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).   Students will receive individual consultations to plan portfolio pieces based on their objectives.

Many former students have gained entrance into top universities and art colleges, received scholarships and grants, and gone on to have successful careers in the art field.
