Summer Art Camp 2025

Rainbow Art Studio is offering a variety of engaging and educational Summer Art Camps for 6th-12th grade students!  Designed to foster creativity and self-expression, each camp provides hands-on instruction to help students develop their artistic skills and bring their ideas to life. Each camp includes one outdoor drawing/sketching session at a local park. Students will also have the opportunity to display their creations at an informal art show at the end of camp!

Registration and Evaluation Details: 

  • New students are required to undergo a one-hour evaluation before starting art class. This session is conducted one-on-one with the head instructor. Following the evaluation, students will receive personalized feedback along with class recommendations tailored to their skill level and goals.

    • Portfolio II evaluation: $250

    • Portfolio I and other classes evaluation: $180 

  • A$50 registration fee applies to all camps (waived for current students). 

  • A $40 discount will be given for early registration by April 12th.


College Portfolio II (10 - 12th)

An advanced course that provides personalized guidance for students who are pursuing college admissions with a focus on art majors. Non-art majors are also welcome to join if they intend on creating a supplemental portfolio to strengthen their extracurriculars in preparation for their college application. 

Students will develop portfolios in areas of illustration, animation, architecture, fine art, graphic design, packaging design, and industrial design. They will be encouraged to participate in regional and national contests.

College Portfolio I (8 - 10th)

This course provides an introduction to building an art portfolio. Students will establish a foundation for thinking conceptually and develop their individual portfolio with guidance from qualified instructors. 

Traditional and non-traditional mediums will be covered. This will include, but are not limited to mediums such as charcoal, ink, poster paint, acrylic, everyday objects, and repurposed materials.

Expressive Figure Drawing (10th - 12th)

This advanced drawing class explores human anatomy, proportion, principles of movement, and form. In each class, students will have the opportunity to participate in different drawing exercises that will expand upon their current drawing foundation. Each class ends with a short group critique where students give each other feedback on their works.

Students will capture the gesture, expression, and mood of each live model using mediums such as acrylic paint, charcoal, ink, marker, and chalk pastel. Prior drawing experience is required (not necessarily in figure drawing).

Introduction to Human Anatomy (6th - 9th)

This course is a unique opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of anatomical art.

Students will be introduced to the essentials of figure drawing with clothed models, using a variety of wet and dry mediums (watercolor, ink, acrylic, charcoal, marker, and chalk pastel). As the class progresses, students will combine their anatomy knowledge with their creativity to draw dynamic figures for their artworks.

Exploration of Art (6th - 9th)

This immersive camp is a stepping stone for students to explore self expression through art. Students will learn storytelling and experiment with a variety of media like pen and ink drawing, painting, and printmaking. Our goal is to inspire creativity and foster a love for the arts!
